Information You Submit
Search Terms
When you type a name, county, or location into a search box powered by a third-party provider, that query is sent to the provider operating the tool. Lee County Inmate Population does not store those search terms in its own roster or records database.
Messages
If you send an email or contact message, the information in that message may be kept long enough to read it, respond, and manage the request. It is not shared outside the organization unless a valid legal requirement calls for disclosure.
Information Collected Automatically
Like many websites, this site may collect basic technical details when a page loads. That information can include:
- Your IP address.
- Browser name and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and time spent on those pages.
- The referring website, when one is available.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies may be used to understand how visitors move through the site and to support analytics or advertising features. You can block cookies in your browser settings, but some features or measurements may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How the Information Is Used
- To keep the site available, readable, and reasonably fast.
- To send search requests to the correct partner service when a third-party tool is used.
- To understand which Lee County custody and South Carolina FOIA pages are useful to visitors.
- To diagnose broken links, display issues, and other technical problems.
- To show advertising that may be based on general interests or browsing context.
Outside Websites and Public-Record Portals
This site links to jail rosters, sheriff pages, South Carolina Department of Corrections resources, court portals, South Carolina FOIA material, and third-party search tools. Once you leave this site, the privacy notice and data practices of the outside site control.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites or to personalize ads. That tracking is handled by those partners, not by a Lee County Inmate Population records database.
